Filter is a set of eight bodies of work designed to operate in the space once occupied by internet banner advertisements. The Add-Art plug-in for the Firefox web browser removes ads from web pages, and presents in their place images that have been prepared with this specific context in mind. The images here are of fractured views of moving terrain through a patina of grime, that both reveal and obscure the indistinct landscapes beyond the surface of the image.
This solo exhibition features an accompanying text, But Not Nothing, Either, by writer Meghan Maguire Dahn.
Add-Art is a free Firefox add-on which replaces advertising on websites with curated art images. Visit the website for instructions on how to download and install into your Firefox web browser.
